Graceland!!

This entire post is dedicated to the King and his mansion...
Tuesday was a big day for me, I got to see Graceland, the home and "death place" of The King, Elvis Presley.
I am going to do a Facebook album as well, there are way too many pictures and places that I saw to post on a single blog! Please accept my apologies for the poor quality of photos, my camera died (forgot the extra batteries) and there was no flash inside, so I used my phone!
The living room, just as Elvis left it when he died
Another view of the living room
 His parent's bedroom
The stairs that lead upstairs where Elvis died. In an effort to protect the privacy of the family, they said, we were not able to go up and see where he actually died. But of course we could see his actual grave!!! (more about the grave in a bit)
 The wonderfully, tacky dining room
The kitchen, they told us this was newly renovated right before the king died...So glad we don't decorate like the 70's anymore!
The basement billiards and lounge area
The jungle room, complete with shag carpet on the floors...and ceiling! yuck
 The custom made waterfall
A video of Elvis riding horses at Graceland played in the car port
Elvis' office
The scale model of Elvis' childhood home
Outside view of Graceland from the backyeard
Gold, platinum, and silver records lined the walls
The Hall of Gold. All of Elvis' gold records

Wedding dress of Priscilla and tuxedo of Elvis'
A very well-done painting of Elvis'
 The pool
All of his records and 70's Vegas show outfits
Recognize these?!?! Imagine Elvis about 40lbs overweight, ok there you go, now you can see it!!
More records! I was amazed at the achievements he made in his short life
 The burial

Ok, so this is my version of a photo with Elvis! He is behind me and about 6ft down!
One more of me outside the mansion, which wasn't as big as I thought it would be and I was bummed about the second floor restrictions! We can see Elvis' grave, but not the infamous bathroom he overdosed in!
I made it to Arkansas yesterday and stayed at a KOA unfortunately, but the State Parks were hard to find!
I am blogging from Oklahoma City, I am going to stay here tonight and explore the town! Looking forward to it...oh yeah, and I drove by Carrie Underwood's home town! check it out!
My friends at the campsite last night, haven't seen so many different looking ducks all together!

 Carrie Underwood's hometown
Check back again for an update!

  1. I had heard that Elvis' house was smaller than expected from other people. All I know is it's a lot bigger than mine! :)
Am eagerly awaiting your next post!
