...that Pennsylvania is the only state that refers to itself by initials? Everyone that lives there or even non-residents say "Pee Eh" I even caught myself saying it when talking about Doylestown, Pee eh. Of course when that was brought to my attention I was determined to prove the person wrong, but upon investigation I came to learn that no one else goes "out in M.N. or I am from T.X." So I gave in, P.A. wins.
This weekend I did a lot of sightseeing in small town Pee Eh. Mostly of Doylestown, a historic village (and hometown to singer/songwriter PINK) in northeastern Pennsylvania.
It just so happens that I parked right in front of a homemade candy shoppe! Don't worry Mumsey, you will see a package soon! They had fudge, and truffles, and chocolate covered blueberries (my fave) oh my!
There are several fun little shops and boutiques in Doylestown, I stopped into a used bookstore located in a very old, but maintained house.
I also stopped into Andre's delicious cheese and wine shop to have a little lunch
Then I did a little wandering around town. I came across a beautiful wall made out of recycled items in dedication to the troops and 9/11.
And after all that walking, I needed to refuel. On dessert!!! I found a homemade ice cream shop that just happened to have the BEST chocolate peanut butter ice cream, sorry mumsey, can't send that home!!
On Saturday I ventured out to a place call Peddler's Village. This was a very fun and campy looking shopping area with unique shops like "The Velvet Slipper" and "Spirited Gifts." They also had a few local pubs that served a wide selection of beers and yummy food!
At Hart's Pub...
The recommended Bakery
A mini eclair...
And finally just a few misc shots around the fun village...
Overall it was fun to see all the interesting shopping and historic towns around the area. Today I am leaving Pee Eh; its time for this girl to see sand and ocean. Not sure where the next destination is, but wherever it is, I know it will be a splendid adventure! Stay tuned for a full report!
YUM! A cute little town with yummy food. Perfect.
