Hollywood!
I finally made it out to Hollywood! And of course my first stop was the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
For those of you that live under rocks or various other earth formations that would block you from pop culture, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a sidewalk that stretches along Hollywood Blvd in downtown Los Angeles. It houses granite slabs with famous Hollywood actors, actresses, directors and various other celebs.
I hate to say it, but I was disappointed to say the very least. The streets were covered with homeless people and people trying to get you to buy something (tours, CDs, etc). The Walk was filthy, there was gunk on the stars and they looked as if they have never been cleaned. Some of them were in such bad shape, you couldn't read the gold colored etching, it had been scuffed off.
A far cry from the glory days of Hollywood in the 1930s and 40s. I did take plenty of photos of some of my favorite stars (old and new) and some for my friends and family! Take a look
Harrison Ford
One of my favs, Bing Crosby...Some of these photos are upside down, I had to take them at any angle because it was so busy with tourists and I haven't edited these photos!
Sandra Bullock
Keanu Reeves and apparently me (the shadow would be me)
Mary-Kate and Ashley...ah childhood!
Christina Aguilera, AKA Mrs Hot Mess (had to snap a shot of this one since it is so recent)
The always classic and wonderful Julie Andrews
John Travolta - Grease Lightning anyone?!
The always funny, Robin Williams
For Melissa...the Munchkins "we represent the lollipop guild"
Queen Latifah
Alfred Hitchcock
A pretty decent self shot with the stars lined up behind me!
This is Donald Sutherland's star right next to his son Kiefer's star
Chuck Norris!!
A photo of me with Patrick Swayze's star
Cuba Gooding Jr....where has he been lately?
Danny Kaye! This makes me think of White Christmas...oh Christmastime, I can't wait for you to arrive
For my little Annika! She loves princesses and Tinker Bell
This is Fred Astaire's star, there were some young guys standing by it and I took a photo. I am assuming plenty of people took a picture because they go "who is Fred As-tairah?" And I just had to laugh out loud at their mispronunciation and ignorance to celebs from many years ago!
Madame Tussauds Marilyn Monroe wax statue
That would be someone dressed as Spiderman trying to get tips for his performance!
Overall the Hollywood Walk of Fame was less than I imagined unfortunately, but I had fun walking around downtown and seeing Hollywood Boulevard! I can now say that I came, I saw, and I conquered the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!
